New Coffee Shop Aims to Please ‘Luke Warm’ Coffee Drinkers

A recent blog entry by marketing guru and strategy genius, Seth Godin, states that “taste is the ability to select, combine and create experiences that the [customer] likes—before they know that they like it”.
Business owner Julian Xavier Bond plans on doing just that when he opens his long awaited coffee shop, “70 Degrees of Pure Bliss,” this week in Brooklyn. The goal, Bond states, is to deliver coffee at room temperature with “care and consistency.” He is passionate about his product and disappointed that the mainstream players have ignored this demographic for so long. “You can’t go anywhere in this city and get coffee at room temperature. You’re either taking it down piping hot or diluting your experience with ice”.

Though Bond feels there already exists an underground movement of ‘luke warm’ coffee lovers previously ignored by coffee providers, he warns that Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts and “all those other trendy cafe spots” better watch out. “Once a customer experiences the joy of coffee at 70 degrees, they’ll never step foot in another Starbucks again”.
When asked how he maintains consistency and speed when serving coffee at room temperature, Bond refused to divulge his secret for fear of ‘copycats’ amongst the larger brands. “Let’s just say it involves the normal coffee making process and a heavily used freezer.”
Quoting Godin, Bond mentions “‘copying…isn’t good taste, it’s copying’ and I’m sick of seeing more and more of the same when it comes to enjoying coffee. I’m filling a niche amongst my luke warm brethren and plan on attracting millions of morning zombies unaware that pure coffee bliss could be achieved at 70 degrees”.
