Liverpool (LFC) Cannot Score from Corners

Corner Kicks: 2011-2012 Liverpool Season in the Premiership through Dec. 12.
- won more corners in 14 of our 19 games (including Carling Cup)
- out-cornered opponents 153 to 81 (+72)!
- scored only 1 Goal off of 153 corners (Skrtel against Bolton) or .65% conversion
- scored only 5 goals off of all set pieces (including 1 penalty, Adam vs. West Brom).
Carroll, step it up here.
Results are disappointing for a Liverpool fan. But you, Liverpool, are loved none the less. YNWA

Let me know if some of my math is not accurate…
On Lucas & Kuyt…

While musing about this and that on a jog yesterday something important dawned on me. In years gone by I would have not been able to admit this, given my inability to admit my mistakes. However I come to you, hat in hand and admit the following.
Lucas and Kuyt are worthwhile footballers and I am happy we have them.
Lucas, as you all know, was formerly total crap. He was the king of the back pass and the epitome of daft tackler (often giving away ridiculous penalties). He has grown leaps and bounds this year (and last, to be fair) and I can easily say that in my mind he has been our best performer this year. It also fills me with an inner glow to know that we sold the vastly inferior Mascherano for 4 times his worth and retained Lucas.
And now for the coup de grace… Kuyt. He is an utter shambles at passing about 30% of the time and his first touch goes missing roughly every 4th match but he is still becoming a bit of a legend for me. It is not really his footballing skills that get me all riled up in the crotch area, it is his clear and unwavering commitment to Liverpool. He and Lucas don’t make power plays to get better contracts, don’t use their agents to feel out other clubs for interest, don’t play Liverpool against some unnamed Italian club with who they are constantly linked, don’t make veiled or overt claims that Liverpool must be “ambitious” if they wish to retain their services, etc etc etc. In short, I love that they love Liverpool.
I wonder how many United or Chelsea fans could appreciate this type of behavior (no need to mention Arsenal or Spurs since they boo their own regardless of how likable, good, and committed they are)?
