Learn from My Mistakes - Volume 1: Dirty Rabbits & Poor Timing
Starting in 2012, and a bit in delay, I’m ging to list a few lessons I learned each week and publish them. Hopefully you can take these lessons and avoid the consequences that I have suffered and will continue to suffer!
LESSONS LEARNED FOR THE WEEK OF JANUARY 30th, 2012.
1. Do not use Task Rabbit for ‘Creative’ Tasks. In this case, “create an eye-popping and stimulating sponsorship deck with beautiful imagery.”

2. Do not book an appointment with your lawyer at 4pm on a Friday.

3. Do not try and flag an uptown cab from Soho at 5pm on a Friday.

4. Do not show up to do your grocery shopping the day before the Super Bowl.

Groundhog Day @ Trader Joe’s
4 of the past 5 trips to Trader Joe’s and I’ve ended up with the exact same cashier every time. We basically pick up where we left off in our conversation, and have full plans on seeing each other on my next trip.
Very strange that of 20 registers, I end up with Zachary F. every time!
Just learned that Zach is turning 21 next week. Happy Birthday bud and see you next week!

UPDATE (July 26th)
So I visited TJ’s again today and though I didn’t meet Zach at the register, he found me in line to tell me an interesting story.
Apparently on his lunch break, an elderly lady who, perhaps, has seen better days approached him. Looking shabby and exhibiting traits of a ‘crazy’ person, she began soliciting Zach for companionship…and sex.
That’s right. Apparently this lady could no longer resist the call of the wild, and spotted the lowly Zachary eating a sandwich outside of work.
Her initial offering of money in exchange for ‘hanging out’ and ‘sex’ didn’t quite do the trick. Zach has work, remember. He can’t just bail on work. But the offer became more tempting as she encouraged him to call her ‘Grandma’ and perhaps use his handy paintbrushes (he carried them with him) to ‘paint her’.
Zach’s birthday is Wednesday, so perhaps a Universal energy guided this lady towards Zachary so she could offer him a most remarkable birthday surprise.
If only work hadn’t got in the way…
